Four Funnels Titanic Painting

Original Titanic painting in acrylic – 375mm x 280mm / 14¾ x 11 inches

Fitting Titanic’s fourth funnel at Harland & Wolff’s deep water wharf, Belfast in 1912.
On the Olympic Class liners – of which Titanic was the second to be built, the aft funnel was a ‘dummy’, built to satisfy both the aesthetics of liner design at the time and the belief that a ship with more funnels appeared faster and more powerful. But although it carried no smoke or fumes from the ship’s boilers, it wasn’t completely idle, as it provided ventilation for the engine rooms and the galleys.

Original painting – £595.00

Limited Edition Prints are also available for £60 each
