“Blanche” – Donegal Tank Loco
The County Donegal Railway was the largest narrow gauge system, not only in Ireland but in the whole British Isles. Its attractive livery of scarlet red and cream makes its trains very picturesque. They certainly form a pleasing contrast with the green of the landscape.
Capturing all the detail of this tank locomotive’s running gear in watercolour, with precision and plenty of intensity!
Preserved as part of the Irish Railway Collection, you can visit Blanche at The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra, County Down, Northern Ireland.
