“Titanic Leaving Queenstown”

A simple painting in gouache (opaque watercolour) of the last view of Titanic from Ireland as she sails towards the Atlantic from Queenstown (now Cobh) on 11th April 1912.

After a successful voyage across the English Channel to collect passengers from Cherbourg, France Titanic made her final stop off the south coast of Ireland, where paddle steamers ‘Ireland’ and ‘America’ brought 123 passengers to the liner.
