Ards TT

Celebrating the 1928 - 1936 RAC Ulster Tourist Trophy

Talbots at the 1930 Ards TT

After Le Mans style starts at both the 1928 and 1929 events, the 1930 Ards TT race started less spectacularly, with groups of cars moving off at intervals. These Talbot cars of Brian Lewis, John Hindmarsh and Hugh Eaton, set off with the big OMs after the Bentleys and the 1750cc Alfas. Their silent, non-stop runs were a notable feature of the 1930 Ards TT but, unsupercharged as they were, they were overpowered by the Alfas which took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
